Product Brief

Solution is a Chrome browser extension developed to improve efficiency and increase accuracy of online research team during the data extraction process. Developed by leveraging Google Vision for optical character recognition, the extension auto-extracts data from online communication tools and images automating the complete process. Second part of the solution consists of development of online web application to present the extracted information to users with advanced search functionalities. 

Background

Client is California, US based established company in automotive research domain and provides extensive information to support purchase decision of its users. Their research team had to manually extract the data related to various automobiles and manually feed it to their portal. With most of the data being in various image file formats, websites and other online communication tools, it was a time consuming and tedious task directly affecting the efficiency of the resources.

Our Solution

Understanding the data extraction needs of the client, VSH team leveraged OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to extract the data which helped client’s research team to extract data and meaningful information from any selected part of website or image and automatically feed it to the portal in the required format.Taking the data extraction one step further, VSH developed advanced analytical algorithm to predict the relevancy of the extracted data to the database fields and autofill the extracted data into the fields with accuracy.
